The Art

I am intimidated as fuck by the idea of writing an artist statement.

I spent my childhood drawing almost compulsively. All of my homework was turned in surrounded by marginalia. I spent my early adulthood working mostly in brush & ink, in the spirit of comic art. I spent my middle adulthood miserable. Now I'm back at the art thing in my later adulthood, and other people seem to like what I'm doing.

I'm currently obsessed with watercolors and digital art, and I've started printing my own shirts & things. I'm also sidling back up to my younger love, pen & ink. My watercolors and giclée prints are printed/painted on 100% cotton, archival-quality papers. The giclée prints are printed with permanent pigment inks. Even some of the stickers are printed and laminated right here in my studio. My hand-printed shirts are upcycled garments unless otherwise noted.

My Promise

No "AI" anything, not now, not ever.

I believe generative "AI" is trash. I will never use it, for images or text. Every word on this website, every post on my social media accounts, every email I send, and every piece of art I make, all came from my own two hands. I believe machine learning could have a useful and important place in society, but aping human creativity is not it.

Testimonials

I am so very grateful to everyone who buys & loves my art...

The watercolor painting by Teresa Knezek (KNEZEK.art) just arrived. I love it so much. I never thought I would love watercolor paintings until I saw hers.

I seriously cannot believe how fucking beautiful this is. It is now my favorite piece of jewelry.

(Weird that we all have the same last initial, but I am not related to either of them. haha)
